UCLA Live’s newly expanded arts and humanities program gives audience members, community groups and students of all ages the chance to go beyond the traditional experience of observing an arts event and become active participants in the creative process.
Art in Action offers an eclectic mix of art-making activities, workshops, lectures, master classes, films, symposia and collaborations with other cultural organizations.  Each free event provides a forum for the UCLA and Los Angeles communities to exchange and express ideas or participate in hands-on arts activities.

Design for Sharing is UCLA Live’s arts education program for students K-12.  The program is fully funded by contributions from hundreds of generous donors, and provides free tickets to public schools and local community organizations, allowing thousands of students and teachers to attend world-class performances at UCLA Live.  Design for Sharing also engages students in participatory arts activities both in school and on campus that enrich the performance experience.

The Student Committee for the Arts supports and encourages awareness of and participation in the arts on the UCLA campus.  The committee provides UCLA students with discounted tickets to UCLA Live events in premiere seats, and its members collaborate with UCLA Live staff to gain practical experience in professional arts administration.  SCA also provides student artists with outlets to showcase their work and produces its own performing arts series.
